Writing

Creative Pieces

I’m interested in storytelling that stems from my lived experiences with an original, fictional twist. Family dynamics, queerness, travel, and outsiders are common themes and focuses. I’m currently writing a comedic, commercial fiction novel set at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

BBC Radio Ulster commissioned my first short story. It followed a young queer teenager coming out to their father on the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Northern Ireland. The brief was to write an uplifting, family-friendly story suitable for a 15-minute radio segment.

The Apiary Literary Magazine based in Belfast published only four fiction short stories out of 200 submissions. My short story is about the changing relationship between a young woman and her grandmother who share a love of photography, but that’s not all they share…

Content Writing/Journalism

Since going freelance in 2017, I’ve written countless content and journalistic pieces for businesses, blogs, and news publications. This includes two and a half years as an SEO content writer for a digital marketing agency. I primarily write online guides, features, and landing pages with a travel, entertainment, and culture focus.

I’m a screen tourism expert. For my site, Offscreen Tourist, I write filming location guides, film festival reviews, and more.

This is a curated list of my bylines.
